Basically no need to add much more to these numbers, right? Perhaps that the result was well deserved and that we played one of our best games ever. Excellent and aggressive defense, held together by naughty John and this time - we learned from the second half against Affoltern - very compact lines and disciplined work between midfield and forwards throughout the game.

Thanks to Cucci for coaching (yes, we were aggressive and hungry!) and Beatli, great job as well: saved both a penalty and a great shot only seconds to the end; Scott, what a goalkeeper this is...

21. August 2009 Affoltern a/A (Freundschaftssiel)

FC Affoltern a/A - FC UBS, 1-4 (Sandro (2), Carlo 1, Own Goal 1)

1st half performance is one of the best performances I have seen from us in 5 years. We were fantastic; we played like one team and not as 11 individuals. Well done.

2nd half – tiredness was showing due to it being early in the season, the fitness will come as we play more games. This also brought frustration; we need to keep the frustration under control. When we are 4 goals ahead, we do not need to attack and waste precious energy, we need to be patient and hold onto the ball, let the other team do the running and waste their energy!

Apart from that I was very pleased as I am sure all you guys are!
A special mention to our goalkeeper, he was the best man on the field!!!!!! ;-)

Now, practice matches are over and it is time to get serious, starting this Friday! This season has the potential to be a very good one, let’s keep the spirit, the commitment and the enjoyment going all through the season.
